2017 National Care Awards

Helen and David

We dusted down our glad rags for a glitzy night out at The 2017 National Care Awards. Our Home Director, Helen Rushton, and Head of Dementia Care, David Barenskie, were both finalists at these special awards that recognise excellence in the care industry. Helen and David were up against some outstanding finalists from across the UK in the Care Manager of the Year and Dementia Care Manager of the Year categories.

Helen Rushton, Director of Green Tree Court commented: “We were thrilled to reach the final five for these categories and it was a privilege to rub shoulders with the other finalists who do so much to make life better for so many. I’d like to send our warmest congratulations to the very worthy winners. And I once again give a huge thank you to all the team at Green Tree Court, who should be very proud of what they do. It was such an honour to be considered in the top five in the country. At Green Tree Court we aim to deliver exceptional, person-centred care in exceptional surroundings. Achieving this and keeping our staff team happy is my number one goal.”

In recognition of the team effort behind David and Helen reaching the final shortlist for the National Care Awards, a group of staff from Green Tree Court travelled to London to attend the awards. This included members of the team who were recently presented with Lexicon Healthcare Star Awards for their dedication and caring approach.

The National Care Awards are organised by Caring Times magazine and have been devised to celebrate the very best people in the long-term care sector, by highlighting excellence and rewarding those who work tirelessly to provide consistently outstanding care. Over 700 guests attended the Gala Night at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel. The gongs were presented by David Baddiel who has written about his own experience of his father’s dementia.
