We may have waved goodbye to the summer, but that didn’t stop us throwing a tropical Caribbean party for our staff and residents with their family and friends. Our way of getting everyone together to have some fun, partygoers feasted on Caribbean delicacies thanks to the skills of our kitchen team. Tropical delights included Jerk Chicken, pumpkin Jambalaya, rice and peas, and fried yams, delicious lemon cake, and ginger cake all washed down with some fruity Caribbean punch. Residents also got involved making cupcakes to be served on the day. And there were hot dogs and jacket potatoes for the kids.
Fun activities for our younger guests included face painting, hat and mask making, and a piñata. Both the children and adults got stuck in to enjoying themselves at our limbo competition. And to make sure that our staff could really relax and have fun with their families, the food was all served by Green Tree Court’s management team.
“We were sad that we had to postpone our annual summer BBQ this year due to our extensive kitchen refurbishment programme,” commented Helen Rushton, Director of Green Tree Court, “but we were determined that it would not be cancelled! With the kitchen now fully open, we were ready to really party to say thank you to our staff and residents for bearing with us.
“With a real celebratory atmosphere, and lots of friends and families here to join the fun, this was probably the best party we’ve had yet. Despite the hurricane raging outside, which obviously added to the Caribbean authenticity, it was a fantastic day. I’d like to say a big thank you to all our staff, residents and family and friends who came along, with extra thanks to our brilliant kitchen team, Sarah, our Head of Care, Maria, our Hotel Services Manager, and Merle, our Activities Co-ordinator, for helping me to look after all our guests.”
