A corner of Green Tree Court has been transformed into a traditional Victorian Shoppe for the festive season. In the run up to Christmas, residents, staff, family, friends, and the local community are all invited to pop in to soak up the festive cheer and stock up on goodies.
“Every year we transform our library into a traditional Victorian shoppe,” commented Merle Weiner, Head of Activities. “It helps to create a really special Christmas atmosphere that everyone from the young to the old will treasure. The shop is stocked with lots of treats to buy, all handmade by our residents, our kitchen team, and other staff. From chutney and Christmas cakes to homemade decorations, we’d like to invite everyone to come and experience our rather different Christmas shopping experience. We’ve also got a Christmas raffle, with the chance to win some fabulous prizes, including a hamper of goodies from Fortnum and Mason. And the money we raise will help to support the important work of The Exeter Dementia Action Alliance and Parkinson’s UK.”
