Green Tree Court regularly welcomes a group of knowing donkeys from Sidmouth’s world famous Donkey Sanctuary. Residents always enjoy the donkeys’ gentle nature as they calmly walk around our lounges and visit individual rooms. With fine, dry weather forecast, a group of us decided to take a trip out to the sanctuary itself to see first-hand the excellent work they do there and meet lots more donkeys too. The day was so special we adopted a donkey of our own. So Ruby, pictured, is now officially our Green Tree Court donkey!

“We were privileged to enjoy a private tour of part of the sanctuary,” commented Merle Weiner, Head of Activities. “As well as finding out about all the vital work being carried out at the sanctuary we spent lots of time petting these gentle creatures. It was a tough decision as all the donkeys have such a lovely nature, but in the end, our residents decided that we would adopt Ruby as our Green Tree Court donkey.”
